Background

Having attained fourteen O levels and four A levels at school, I started my financial services career in 1984.

During these years, I have worked for providers, including Refuge Assurance and Eagle Star and High Street financial service organisations, including Barnsley Building Society, HSBC and the Abbey.

I have held the roles of a traditional insurance agent, mortgage adviser and a personal and corporate adviser, all of which has been valuable to my development and have offered a breadth of knowledge and experience which has proved to be of great assistance throughout my career to date.

I joined Blake Independent in 2006.

Qualifications

As well as the required financial services qualifications, I also hold specialist qualifications in the areas of savings and investments, pensions and long term care.

Area of expertise

I have a broad experience in the financial services market, which over the years has allowed me to gain knowledge of a broad spectrum of topics. However, my main areas of specialism are in corporate / business financial planning, tax mitigation and investment solutions, wealth and estate preservation and inheritance tax planning.

About me

My greatest interest is being a Dad!

I have a son and daughter with whom I am lucky to be able to spend every weekend with, so my hobbies and interests are theirs and I make the most of my time with them.

However, I have an unusual fact in that at the age of 15, I co-starred in a feature film which went on to win an award at the Cannes Film Festival. Sadly no one remembers the name of the film I was in or my 15 minutes of fame, but the award was shared with another film which also received recognition and critical acclaim and everyone has heard of Apocalypse Now. If you are going to be overshadowed in anything in life, its hard to complain when its a cult classic!
