Background

I left school in 1989 and embarked on a career in manufacturing. I studied at college on a part time basis to further my education and this led to a variety of roles in manufacturing, with a qualification as a Process Engineer, where I specialised in quality improvement techniques.

I have always had an interest in finance and took the opportunity to join the Co-operative Insurance Society in 2002 as a trainee Financial Adviser. Once qualified, I was promoted to the position of Sales Manager where I managed a team of ten advisers. With an interest in being able to offer independent advice I took the opportunity to join Blake Independent in 2005.

Area of expertise

I see myself as an all-rounder in financial advice as I cover all areas of financial planning, including retirement planning, investments, mortgages, insurance and efficient tax planning for corporate/business purposes as well as for private individuals.

About me

I have 3 children and between them I am kept fairly well occupied in my spare time.

I enjoy travel greatly and have a favourite area in the Greek Islands where I prefer to venture off the tourist trail into small obscure villages and towns spending a great deal of time sitting outside a cafe chatting and exchanging views with the locals.

Theres nothing like experiencing the real country and its people!

I enjoy boxing training and of late have ventured into ballroom dancing as a fitness regime. Strictly Come Dancing has a lot to answer for and it has been the cause of great hilarity with friends and family. I also enjoy the odd game of golf. However, as Im not a great golfer, I spend a large amount of my time in the rough searching for the ball.
